What you Need to Know to get the Most from this Website
The reason I have upgraded my previous website about Lone Mountain History is to help you more easily connect all the information on it into a meaningful history.
The main blog is called “Lone Mountain Stories.” There you will find almost everything that is posted on the site beginning with the most recent. Let me warn you, though, material will be added in a totally random fashion. Not chronologically at all. Within those posts you will find stories, biographies, documents, newspaper articles, i.e. a mixture of everything, in no particular order. It will seem haphazard.
But take heart!
I will also try to bring the most important information together in a more cohesive and meaningful way. The main sections on the Homepage, “The Payne Family,” “The Jennings Family,” “Byrd Payne and A Jennings,” and “Roger Payne’s WWII Letters,” and others, will be organized much differently. As more content is added it will make more sense.
As of this writing, the “Byrd and A” section and the “Jennings” section are not ready to be viewed.
This website is new and very incomplete. I have over twenty years of accumulated research, but I have written only a fraction of it. Bear with me. I will be adding new material almost daily. My goal is add one new story and two of Dad’s war letters per week.
